The Beach!

Last weekend, our little family took a trip to South Haven, Michigan. There are many little beach towns along Lake Michigan, and this was a new one for us to visit.
We really enjoyed it!

There were times I felt like I was back home in California. This town reminded me a lot of Corona del Mar. The only thing missing was the smell of the salty air.

When reading about the area, I found out that South Haven was voted #3 for best boating in the world.

Camille was so HAPPY to be at the beach again! The water was REALLY warm, and she enjoyed the waves coming up and "getting her." They were the perfect size for kiddos.

There were some bouys out in the water letting boaters know where the swim area was. Camille wanted to go out and touch them. She was so brave, and kicked her way out there with her swim floaty on, only letting us help her when she got tired. We were so impressed! This was the first time she wanted to swim in the "ocean."

Most of our time at the beach was spent playing in the sand. I spent an hour making drip castles with her. She kept asking for more!

Joel spent a long time burrying her legs. She'd ask us where her foot went and we'd play a guessing game, and then she'd pop it up out of the sand.

It truly was a perfect day!
None of us wanted to leave, especially this beach bum. We had to carry her off the beach!
